elly b organic skincare - divine creams for your skin

I have used many of the elly b organic skincare products before and I keep coming back to them because they are divine to use and my skin responds so well to the products.
I just recieved my new order of the Creamy Coconut Cleanser and the Aromatic Hand cream which is just brilliant.
I love the feel of the creams as well as the essentiaol oils that are used in them because they smell so good.  The hand cream is very rich so you dont need to use a lot and my hands feel so good after an application of this cream.  Read below the details for the hand cream..(ps its great on feet too)  When you use this you can close your eyes and think you are in a Day Spa because of the  perfume from the essential oils.

With Mandarin, Tangerine & Lavender essential oils this extremely nourishing cream helps to soothe & protect dry and dehydrated hands and feet. Organic Cocoa Butter and Organic Shea Butter together with specially selected Organic Plant & Nut Oils combine to provide a rich, concentrated & rejuvenating balm leaving the skin moisturised and hydrated. It has a long lasting effect on the skin.

Moisturising, soothing & protecting. Hydrates hands & feet. Divine essential oil combination.

Now to the face cleanser..................
My face cleanser is the Coconut one that I love so much, it is creamy and smells good and takes off all of my makeup with ease.  All of the ellyb cleansers do a great job of removing eye makeup so you  dont neet to buy makeup removers as well.
If you need a new cleanser give these a try you will love the way they work and how good your skin feels and what great value they are.

Check out the whole rannge of Australian made Certified Organic Skincare and you will be very pleased you made the effort.  This range is truly the best range I have used in many a year..I am a big fan..

5 Things Your Makeup Artist Wants You To Know

5 Things Your Makeup Artist Wants You To Know
The Bridal Look

We all have events in our lives that require us to present ourselves in the best light, and when one of these events comes around we often seek out the services of a hairdresser to ensure our hair looks it’s best & we invest in a new outfit.  However, if you really want to look your best you need to be thinking more broadly about your overall appearance and give some consideration to your skincare and your makeup which can have a big impact on your end result.

It is not always just about ‘the hair and the dress’, so why do we see so many women arriving to one of the biggest events/nights of their lives looking like they’re auditioning for a role on Jersey Shore?

Big hair and plastered on make-up may work for you if you’re on a reality TV show, but in the real world too much makeup and bad hair can ruin your night of celebration. So what should a woman do to make sure her make-up enhances, rather than detracts from her outfit?
We asked professional make up artist Lauren Nolan for some tips to ensure you look the best on your big event. She believes that too many people fail to prepare their faces for their big night out, and that with just a little time each day doing some basic steps, young ladies can really improve the end result.

Lauren believes that these simple strategies listed below should be part of everyone’s beauty routine, and she recommends all women make a special effort to take action about 8 weeks prior to their Makeup Artist arriving to apply their makeup.

”If you are going to invest in an outfit for your event, it’s also worth considering investing in a professional makeup artist to complete the finishing touches,” says Lauren. “By actioning these 5 recommendations will ensure you have a beautiful outcome.”

Lauren said” There is a growing trend for professional women to engage a Makeup Artist before they have a job interview or they make a presentation to clients as they really want to  make sure their overall look is complete & professional”.

Here are Lauren’s - 5 Things Your Makeup Artist Wants You to Know!
1. Have your eyebrows waxed and shaped by a professional – not your best friend please! Do this at least 1 week before the big night.

2. 8 weeks before the big night set up a good skincare routine if you do not have one.  Invest in some good quality natural skincare – try Elly B Orangic skincare made right here in Australia, it is a brilliant range of skincare and smells divine

3. Cleanse your skin morning and night so your skin will glow with a healthy radiance

4. Exfoliate, Exfoliate, Exfoliate, do you get the hint? This is one of the most important things you should do to get rid of dead skin cells and dry skin patches.  Exfoliate at least twice a week before the formal, however, do not exfoliate on the day - the last time you exfoliate should be the day before.

Exfoliate

5. Moisturise your skin at least once a day, preferably twice a day and always before applying makeup to your skin.  Botanical Moisturiser from Elly B Organic skincare is a non-greasy product and it works well on all skin types so give it a try.

If you follow these simple steps to prepare for your special event then your Makeup Artist will have beautifully a polished canvas to work on and the end results will be simply stunning.

Remember: If the formal dress is the cake, a woman’s makeup and hair are the icing.
Lauren Nolan MUA works closely with www.makeupnet.com.au as an advisor to their online Makeup store.

Look amazing on your day
No matter what the occasion follow these steps and also engage an MUA as a treat, make it even more special

Gothic Vamp Makeup & Indy Brands

I love ‘indy’ makeup.  Its unique and creative and offers us something some of the major brands don’t..something different.  Major brands really are very much the same and when I shop the ‘indy’ brands I know I will find something exciting to bring to our customers.

Read about Morgana and how she got started in her business making some very good quality lipsticks.

Beautiful Bold Lipsticks are a must and this one from Morgana is stunning

This is called 'Bees Knees" and is my favorite colour from the 1920's collection

Morgana Cryptoria is a woman owned small business located in Arizona.  Cryptoria is an expansion of Morgana Minerals, a company created in November 2006.

From 2006-2008 Morgana spent time learning about ingredients, experimenting with formulas, & web design. In 2008, orders would trickle in once in awhile. By 2009, orders began to increase due to word of mouth. Mid 2009 Morgana Minerals began to get recognized by beauty blogs and started to get the exposure it really needed.

In late 2010 Morgana opened Morgana Cryptoria & closed Morgana Minerals.

Morgana’s plan is to become less of a mineral makeup company and focus on traditional cosmetics while working on plans to expand into gothic clothing, decor, and jewellery in the future.

Morgana is mostly known for her famous handcrafted vegan lipsticks.

Do you aspire to start your own makeup range..if so we would love to hear from you and help promote your brand.

This brand is now avaiable in Australia from www.makeupnet.com.au Lipsticks are $13.99

Jurlique Anti-Aging Skincare Review Part 2

You might recall I won a load of Jurlique products recently?  I reviewed the Day Cream last week and that has been brilliant and I am still using it and loving the impacts it is having on my skin.

My skin is firmer and I do feel that the lines around my eyes are minimised..which is all good news.

Today I will let you know about my views of the Night Lotion - this is an unusual product range in my view as normally you get a day lotion and a night cream..this range has a Night Lotion and a Day cream.

The Night lotion is very light on the skin and it sinks in very quickly which is all great.  It does not feel heavy at all like some other night time products so at first I was a little concerned that it might not give me enough moisture overnight?  I am pleased to say that my skin feel really nice in the morning and it looks good too.

I am very pleased so far with the range of products so if you are looking for some skincare for the mature age group this is a definite keeper!

Would I pay $69.00 for it - yes, does it do what it is supposed to do - yes it does in my view.

The eye cream and the face serum reviews are still to come...so sign up for those.

Here is what the manufacturer has to say about the product.

Purely Age-Defying Night Lotion

A high-performance lightweight lotion that encourages skin renewal overnight for increased radiance by morning. Works in synergy with Purely Age-Defying Facial Serum to moisturise and diminish the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles.  $68.99 a tube.

The Benefits:
  • Helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Provides long-lasting moisturisation and hydration.
  • Diminishes the appearance of skin discolourations.
The Ingredients:
  • Rock Samphire and Yeast Extract help support skin’s collagen network, creating a firmer look and reducing the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles.
  • Shea butter and Borage Seed Oil, essential fatty acids, help replenish skin’s natural lipid barrier.
  • Licorice Root and Vitamin C work synergistically to reduce the appearance of skin discolourations.

Pimples and other blemishes on our faces

No matter what your age we women - I suppose men do also- but my focus is on women today -we all get pimples, zits, acne call them what you like - we all get them at times in our lives.

And we all HATE getting them with a passion!  I suffered  a bit when in my teens and had to go onto some medication for a while to help rid my skin of these horrid things, however it was short term so no long term damage to my skin.  My brother on the other hand had pimples that were like mountains and he has many scares on his face now which is sad for him.

I have found a skincare cream/treatment that is a new comer in my view to the Aussie market called Beautiful Caroline BB Cream.  BB Cream is a Banish Blemishes Cream with a tinted moisturizer also, how cool!

The BB Cream market across Asia is huge and very popular as the creams have many benefits for the skin such as controlling oil, calming the skin and giving a great natural coverage.   The one issue with the current creams is that they are very pale in colour and therefore will not suit many Australian skintone unless you are very pale or you are of Asian decent.

The good news is that I have found another brand of BB creams that comes in 3 colours and these I hope will be a better colour range that suits the Australian complexions.

I am having this product evaluated by our Face Book fans - we send them the cream and they evaluate it and share their views back with us.  Join the fan page and you could participate in these kind of evaluations and giveaways.
Here is the BB Beautiful Caroline Cream:
Whitening + Anti wrinkle + Moisture + Skin protection [SPF30,PA++] + Natural skin tone + Soothing effect + Sebum control

This multi-functional & Natural BB cream including rosemary, grape, aloe, green tea has whitening, anti wrinkle, moisturizing, cell renewal and skin protection effect against harmful UVA, UVB rays, pollution.

It leaves a radiant, clear and healthy complexion with flawless and natural finish.

It has total revitalizing effect of hydrating, improving skin elasticity, nourishing and brightening benefits.

It evens skin tone with velvety smooth texture and conceals blemishes, discoloration area on face including acne, age spot, dark circles,
sun spots, scars.

Beautiful Caroline BB cream is designed for all ages and all skin types to help create a youthful, healthy complexion.

Have you tried a BB cream -what did you think and what brand was it? Would you like to use a BB cream?  Tell us what you think please.

Ecrinal Eye Lash Treatment Trial

Ecrinal has a range of products for Nails & Eyes

Strengthening Lash Gel
This gel makes eyelashes and eyebrows nicer and help strengthen and stimulate re-growth.
Totally invisible. Can  be used as a night treatment.
 (ANP®, castor oil)

Hi everyone, I have been spending a lot of time looking for new products to try and I am excited to say that I have found a few that I will talk about over the coming weeks.   The first one I want to talk about is a treatment ( pictured above) that was recommend to me to try out for my eye lashes which are a little on the thin side and could use some help!

The product is a clear gel like substance that comes like a mascara wand.  It is recommended to use it morning and night and you can put your mascara over the top, infact they make this stuff in a msacara as well, but you don't want to wear a mascara to bed do you???  or do you??  Well not for me, so I bought the clear gel to try out.

It feels nice on the lashes as it sticks to the lashes, you can see it clearly as it is thick.  It has a small, not unpleasant, but not a perfume if you know what I mean.  It felt really nice on and you can see the lashes looking thicker straight away, however the product is designed to be used twice a day for many weeks to build and strengths your lashes, helps them to regrow and also not to fall out.  3 days in the lashes look good but over the coming weeks I will let you know if I think this stuff works wonders for me.

If you have tired some good eye lash building products I would love to hear from you !!

  cheers  Jill

Get the Kim Kardashian Look with this Tutorial

Kim Kardashian always looks super cool..well I think she does...and if you do and would like to know how she does it, here is a step by step guide to getting the Kim Kardashian look written by her makeup artist for her birthday bash.

If you try it out and take a picture, send it to us so we can show everyone how cool you look!  cheers and happy reading Jill

STEP #1: Kim’s Skin
“It’s very important to keep up on your skincare regimen to keep it’s glamour & help to stay away from breakouts. On Kim I apply PerfectSkin, LaMer lifting serum, & PerfectSkin eye cream. To condition lips I use Keihl’s lip balm. *Don’t be lazy, this also goes for washing your face at night! Use makeup remover wipes if you are too tired.”
STEP #2: Primer
“I use Mister Mat Mattifying foundation primer by Givenchy.”
STEP #3: Foundation
“I like to keep Kim’s overall skin to appear matte so I use Sheer Matte by NARS. Blend into the skin with a foundation brush for a flawless touch.”
STEP #4: Undereyes
“I use Lift Concealor by Make Up For Ever.”
STEP #5: Set
“Finally I set Kim’s entire face with translucent powder by Laura Mercier. *Don’t get all cray cray & over do it, only dust your brush with a touch & then gently apply powder.”
STEP #6: Brows
“I tweezed them using Tweezerman tweezers. Then filled them in with Lingering brow pencil by M.A.C.”
STEP #7: KIM’S EYES
“All over the lid I applied the golden shade of NARS Duo eyeshadow in Mediteranee. On the outer corners of the eyes, crease, & along the lower lash line apply Chopper eyeshadow by Urban Decay. On the inner rim of the (tear duct) & the brow bone I apply what I call the magic to the eyes, Lust Duster by benefit. I then lined her top inner rim with Eye Kohl in Smolder by M.A.C. Then to line the lower inside rim I used Costa Riche by M.A.C. To finish off her eye I curled her lashes using Shu Uemura eyelash curler. Then I coated her lashes with LOREAL Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara. *Yay it now comes in waterproof!”
STEP #8: Kim’s Cheeks
“To bronze & add warmth to her skin I used Dior Bronze Matte Sunshine in Amber Matte. On the hollow of her cheeks I applied Suntan Matte Bronzelights by Smashbox. *Using matte bronzers helps to stay away from a possible muddy effect. For blush I brushed onto the apples of the cheeks The Bronze Natural by Dolce & Gabbana.”
STEP #9: Kim’s Luminous Glow
“I applied Lust Dust by benefit right above the hollows ofher cheeks & bridge of her nose.”
STEP #10: Kim’s Lips
“First I lined her lips with Cremola Cremestick liner by M.A.C. Then I applied lipstick in Soft Nude by Revlon. Lastly to add a chic shine I applied 24K gloss by Lip Fusion. *Who needs injections when you can pump up the volume with just gloss!!”
Uhuh. Just gloss hey Joyce? Have you seen the pictures of Kim’s trout pout in this week’s Famous mag?
