Beauty Bits: Pucker Worthy Pinks For Valentine's Day

Get your smooches ready, girls. Valentine's Day is just around the corner so we scouted out some of this season's hottest lip shades in perfect pinks, guaranteed to make your guy swoon.

We asked Brooklyn-based cosmetics expert and Lime Crime founder Doe Deere for her best tip on wearing a proper pink: "There is no better time to wear a bright lip than Valentine's Day! Before you start, make sure your lips are kissably soft by prepping them with lip balm and exfoliating gently with a Q-tip. Define shape and fill in with a matching pencil and apply lipstick directly from the bullet. Blot to remove excess, re-apply and blot again. Top with clear lip gloss for maximum "wow" effect, or leave it matte to last you through many smooches!"

Lime Crime's Opaque Lipstick in "Countessa Fluorescent": This super creamy, super pigmented neon pink gives hot and heavy coverage. The part lipstick, part lip stain formula gives it the ultimate SWAC seal of approval, and the unicorn hologram-embellished tube... Well, that confirms it: we think we're in love.
$16
Space NK, 217 Columbus Ave.; 212-362-2840.

MAC's Lipstick in "Girl About Town": Finally a solid magenta -- sans undertones -- that can flatter every skin shade without washing you out with the winter blues. A creamy finish without a trace of shine or shimmer gives you a sophisticated shade.
$14.50
MAC, 46th & Broadway and locations throughout the city.

L'Oréal Paris True Match Naturale Gentle Lip Conditioner in "Soft Bloom": A demure choice for the sweetest of Valentine's, this mineral-based lip treatment provides a sheer wash of petal pink with a moisturizing formula of Sweet Almond Oil and Vitamin E.
$9.95
Duane Reade, locations everywhere.

Tarte's LipSurgence Natural Lip Luster in "Pouty": The latest in Tarte's popular LipSurgence pen-shaped lip tint comes with a touch of sparkle and plenty of naturally restorative properties that keep this a favorite among beauty counter regulars. Pouty is a rich glittering berry that is just pleading to be picked.
$24
Sephora, 711 Lexington Ave. and locations throughout the city.

Get the Kim Kardashian Look with this Tutorial

Kim Kardashian always looks super cool..well I think she does...and if you do and would like to know how she does it, here is a step by step guide to getting the Kim Kardashian look written by her makeup artist for her birthday bash.

If you try it out and take a picture, send it to us so we can show everyone how cool you look!  cheers and happy reading Jill

STEP #1: Kim’s Skin
“It’s very important to keep up on your skincare regimen to keep it’s glamour & help to stay away from breakouts. On Kim I apply PerfectSkin, LaMer lifting serum, & PerfectSkin eye cream. To condition lips I use Keihl’s lip balm. *Don’t be lazy, this also goes for washing your face at night! Use makeup remover wipes if you are too tired.”
STEP #2: Primer
“I use Mister Mat Mattifying foundation primer by Givenchy.”
STEP #3: Foundation
“I like to keep Kim’s overall skin to appear matte so I use Sheer Matte by NARS. Blend into the skin with a foundation brush for a flawless touch.”
STEP #4: Undereyes
“I use Lift Concealor by Make Up For Ever.”
STEP #5: Set
“Finally I set Kim’s entire face with translucent powder by Laura Mercier. *Don’t get all cray cray & over do it, only dust your brush with a touch & then gently apply powder.”
STEP #6: Brows
“I tweezed them using Tweezerman tweezers. Then filled them in with Lingering brow pencil by M.A.C.”
STEP #7: KIM’S EYES
“All over the lid I applied the golden shade of NARS Duo eyeshadow in Mediteranee. On the outer corners of the eyes, crease, & along the lower lash line apply Chopper eyeshadow by Urban Decay. On the inner rim of the (tear duct) & the brow bone I apply what I call the magic to the eyes, Lust Duster by benefit. I then lined her top inner rim with Eye Kohl in Smolder by M.A.C. Then to line the lower inside rim I used Costa Riche by M.A.C. To finish off her eye I curled her lashes using Shu Uemura eyelash curler. Then I coated her lashes with LOREAL Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara. *Yay it now comes in waterproof!”
STEP #8: Kim’s Cheeks
“To bronze & add warmth to her skin I used Dior Bronze Matte Sunshine in Amber Matte. On the hollow of her cheeks I applied Suntan Matte Bronzelights by Smashbox. *Using matte bronzers helps to stay away from a possible muddy effect. For blush I brushed onto the apples of the cheeks The Bronze Natural by Dolce & Gabbana.”
STEP #9: Kim’s Luminous Glow
“I applied Lust Dust by benefit right above the hollows ofher cheeks & bridge of her nose.”
STEP #10: Kim’s Lips
“First I lined her lips with Cremola Cremestick liner by M.A.C. Then I applied lipstick in Soft Nude by Revlon. Lastly to add a chic shine I applied 24K gloss by Lip Fusion. *Who needs injections when you can pump up the volume with just gloss!!”
Uhuh. Just gloss hey Joyce? Have you seen the pictures of Kim’s trout pout in this week’s Famous mag?

New Shampoo & Conditioner trial Schwarzkopf

Hi everyone,

I decided to try a new shampoo this week after seeing the ads on T.V...dont they get us in!  The new shampoo ad told us all that it would give our hair more body and volume and that is what I really need in my hair.  My hair has always been a real problem for me..in my view anyway.  I spend ages trying to get some body and volume into it with hair dryer, sprays, and loads of products.

The new shampoo is called Hair Repair Push-Up Volume Shampoo for flat, lifeless hair...well that describes my hair to a tee!

So thought I would give it a go and it was on special so I had to buy it. I got the Conditioner as well both for $8.00 which is really cheap.

I used it yesterday and do think it actually did have an impact on the hair as it was a little 'boufier' if you know what I mean.  I will see how it goes next wash as I intend to leave the shampoo on the hair for a longer period ( I got this tip from a hairdresser) as well as the condition as I hear that this is important to g3et the best effects from this type of product.  So I will keep you posted on how this goes.

This is not an advertisement and I purchased these items in Melbourne Supermarkets.
